Rope Access L3 Trainers

Location: Richmond, BC
Status: On call, hourly

We are looking for dedicated Rope Access Trainers who are passionate about enhancing the rope access industry with Pacific Ropes. In this role, you’ll be responsible for training various rope access technicians in our training center to SPRAT and/or IRATA standards monthly. This position is on call, and requires you to sign up to teach our scheduled courses. There is a potential to become our full time trainer in this position.

Ideally you will have:

  • L3 SPRAT and IRATA Certification
  • OFA 3 Certification
  • Strong organizational skills
  • In-depth knowledge of the IRATA Icop, TACS, and SPRAT Safe Practices
  • Expert knowledge of rope access equipment, processes, and maneuvers
  • Comprehensive experience on the field as a rope access technician
  • Strong knowledge of current Worksafe BC regulations
  • Attention to Detail

Responsibilities include but aren’t limited to:

  • Prepare and organize lessons for training rope access courses
  • Follow curriculum to ensure candidates are successful
  • Run SPRAT and IRATA courses monthly
  • Work with Administrator to co-ordinate admin paperwork for training courses
  • Ensure students receive all resources needed to successfully complete their training
  • Follow training guidelines for SPRAT and IRATA
  • Prepare any safety paperwork before courses commence
  • Manage and maintain training equipment
  • Keep training area and classroom tidy
  • Liaise with assessors
  • Be available to answer questions and provide extra feedback for students
  • Wrap up classes each day and ensure all materials and resources are available for the next day
  • Attend assessment day
